A rare chickpea used in Indian and Italian cooking with a delicious nutty flavour and striking appearance. Black Chickpeas are smaller than regular chickpeas with a distinct black colour. Also known as Kala Chana in India and Ceci Nero in Italy. When cooked, they maintain their colour and have a delicious pronounced nutty flavour and creamy texture. They are used in place of regular chickpeas in curries, salads and make for a striking presentation in falafels and hummus.
